Catalogue of Ignorance

I've got a catalogue of ignorance at home.
It sits in the corner and murmurs obscenities
from my mind.
Sometimes I long to read them out loud
whatever the consequences of announcing
my catalogue of ignorance to the world.
At each interview with authority
their questions of diversity demand
that I close my catalogue of ignorance
and open the big book of political
correctness instead.
This page turning blandness
rumbles out of my mouth
to impress and astound.
Yet my catalogue of ignorance
constantly struggles to be heard.
Its pages flickering and turning
like an ever gossiping mouth.
Drawing me into the corners
of my opinions and the reality
of my catalogue of ignorance.

  1. Hey Mog, *this is me nodding my head*
I really love this! In fact, I think it's probably the best you've ever written. It really works for me, I get fantastic images in my head and it made me smile.
The picture you've got with it (did you take it?)
    also works a treat!
    Big thumbs up.

  2. Thank you Luna for these lovely comments. My boss at work was talking about the Argos catalogue and said this line and I just had to make it a poem.

Unfortunately the photo is not mine I just found it on the Net.

I enjoy writing work like this and my 'Bob's' and hope to continue to do so.
